I hand sculpt this elegant barrette in finest quality, musical instrument grade deep crimson bloodwood. I then add a painstakingly handcrafted gem filled wheel deisgn with turquoise, jet, mother of pearl, and spiny oyster set in sterling silver. A unique design with just a hint of southwestern flair. Size: Medium approx. 3" size of clip: 70mm / 2 3/4" Good barrette to pull back a section of normal thickness hair or all of fine hair.

Bloodwood-  (Brosimum Rubescens- Central & South America) Also known as Satine and Cardinal Wood for its strawberry red to crimson red coloring.

We've been making wood barrettes for over 20 years. Our wooden barrettes are all made from SOLID wood.  **Never a thin layer of veneer over a cheaper base wood**
They are screwed not glued to the made in France clips for a strong, durable, mess free joint.

Barrette clips vary quite a bit in quality. I use only the highest quality French Barrette Clips on all my barrettes. They have proven themselves over time to be the best available.
